How to Schedule a Special Visit at Monroe County Jail

If you can’t make the normal visiting window, Monroe County Jail does allow special visits - but they’re not walk-in. Special visits are by appointment only, so you’ll need to request one and wait for the jail to confirm it.

Regular visiting hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Inmates can only receive visitors on one of those days per week - so if the standard schedule doesn't fit yours, a special visit might be your best option.

Special visits require approval from jail leadership - specifically the Sheriff or the Jail Administrator at Monroe County Jail.

1. Call the Sheriff’s Business Office during business hours - The Sheriff’s Business Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
2. Use the main Sheriff’s Office phone number - Call 660-327-4060 to start the request and ask about scheduling a special visit.
3. If you’re calling outside business hours, ask for the on-duty deputy - You can contact the Sheriff’s Office by telephone at 660-327-4060 at any time and request to speak with the on duty deputy.

Once you've submitted your request, the Sheriff or Jail Administrator reviews it and makes the final call. Approval or denial comes from the facility itself. If you have a CIDNET account or pending "link request," keep in mind that CIDNET doesn't handle approvals - that's entirely up to the jail.
