What Personal Items You Can Bring to Monroe County Jail (and When)
Bringing hygiene items to Monroe County Jail? Packaging matters just as much as the item itself. Everything must be brand-new, unopened, and in clear plastic containers. Double-check that seals are intact and nothing has been transferred into a different bottle or bag. Anything opened or not in clear plastic will be rejected.
Drop-off timing is strict. Monroe County Jail only accepts inmate property during regular visiting days - you can't bring items on off-days. Plan your delivery around the visitation schedule.
- ✓ Visiting hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
- ✓ Each inmate can have visits on only one of those two days per week - so coordinate with your loved one before you show up.
Heads up: Deputies will not buy items for inmates. If your loved one needs something, you’ll need to bring it in (when allowed) rather than expecting staff to pick it up.
Prohibited Items Cell Rules
- ✓ Ink pens (not allowed in inmate cells)
Some restrictions go beyond what you can drop off - they apply to what inmates can actually keep in their cells. At Monroe County Jail, each cell is limited to one TV and one radio. Lights-out runs from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and all TVs and radios must be turned off during that window.
Keep it simple: Property can only be dropped off on visiting days, and what's allowed inside cells is limited. Ink pens aren't permitted, and TV/radio use is restricted overnight (11:00 PM–6:00 AM).
