How to Send Money to Facility

Family and friends can deposit money to an inmate's commissary account online through the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. This is the option to use when you want your person to be able to buy commissary items while they're in custody.

The Sheriff's Office also lets you pay inmate bonds online. That's a separate type of payment from commissary, so make sure you're choosing the bond option only when you're actually trying to pay a bond (not add spending money).

Note: The Sheriff’s Office page confirms online commissary deposits and online bond payments, but it does not spell out payment methods, fees, processing times, limits, or exactly what information you will need. Plan to verify those details before you submit a payment.

How to Send Money to Facility

Steps to Follow

  • Use the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office online jail information resources.
  • Choose the option to deposit money to an inmate’s commissary online (for spending money).
  • If you are trying to pay a bond, choose the option to pay inmate bonds online.
  • Have the inmate’s identifying information ready, along with your payment details, so you can complete the transaction without delays.

Before you hit submit, confirm the details on the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office site or by calling the facility directly. You'll want to know what forms of payment are accepted, whether there are service fees, and if there are any minimums or maximums. Also check how long it takes for funds to post to commissary, and what inmate identifiers you'll need so your payment goes to the right person. Since both commissary deposits and bond payments are available online, verify whether they use separate pages or processes, and where to get help if something goes wrong.

Reminder: Do not assume commissary deposits and bond payments work the same way online. The Sheriff’s Office lists both options, but it does not confirm they use the same portal, fees, or requirements.
