You can drop off money for an inmate's commissary account at the jail lobby window. It's open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 2:45 pm.

  • Bring the inmate’s name (and any identifying info you have) so staff can apply the money correctly
  • Ask for a receipt and keep it until you’re sure the funds have been credited
  • Write down the date and time you made the drop-off (and the amount)
  • If you can, take a quick photo of the receipt for backup

Western Kentucky Distribution handles commissary at Muhlenberg County Detention Center. They're the supplier behind everything inmates can purchase through the jail's commissary system.

The facility uses Care-a-Cell for approved care packages. These packages meet the jail's security requirements, and you order directly through Care-a-Cell.

The jail won't accept personal property dropped off for inmates. If your loved one needs something, it has to come through commissary or the approved care-package option.

  2. Drop off money during lobby window hours - deposits are accepted Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 2:45 pm.
  3. Keep your proof of payment - hold onto your receipt and note the date/time so you can track the deposit if there’s a delay.
