Posting Bond at Muhlenberg: Cash, Exact Change, Fees, and Surety Checklist

If you are posting bond on a weekday, plan to go through the Clerk’s office. Muhlenberg lists bond posting at the Clerk’s office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Outside those hours, you can still post bond. Head to the detention center's lobby window for after-hours and weekend bond posting.

Bring cash with exact change. Muhlenberg requires all bond payments in cash, and staff cannot break bills for you.

Surety Eligibility Checklist

• ✓ Kentucky resident
• ✓ Valid driver’s license or Kentucky ID
• ✓ At least 18 years old

• ✓ No pending or convicted felony charges

The surety must be someone other than the people charged in the case. If you are the defendant or a co-defendant, you cannot serve as surety. You will need to find someone else.
