Sending Mail to Muhlenberg County Detention Center: Which Address to Use and When
Muhlenberg County Detention Center uses two different mailing addresses depending on what you're sending. Getting the right address (and labeling it correctly) helps avoid delays and rejected mail.
For regular mail from friends and family, use the PO Box address in Highland Heights. Include the inmate's name and ID on the envelope, formatted like this: Inmate Name - Inmate ID, Muhlenberg County Detention Center, PO Box 76550, Highland Heights, KY 41076.
- ✓ Keep it letter size or smaller: no larger than 8 1/2" x 11".
- ✓ Don’t send anything smaller than postcard size: no smaller than 3 1/2" x 5".
- ✓ Avoid thick paper and bulky items. Mail must be no thicker than light card stock.
- ✓ Make sure it can go through a sheet-fed scanner (flat paper only).
Common rejections: The facility prohibits stamps, blank envelopes, stationery, and any form of currency (cash, checks, and money orders included).
Legal mail from attorneys goes to the facility's street address, not the PO Box. Include the inmate's name and ID: Inmate Name - Inmate ID, Muhlenberg County Detention Center, 108 Court Row, Greenville, KY 42345.
Note: All incoming mail may be opened and inspected for contraband or rule violations. Mail that violates guidelines may be destroyed without being returned.
Missing identifying information is the fastest way to get mail rejected. Every piece of incoming mail needs the inmate's full name and inmate ID, even if you've sent mail to that person before.
Include a return address on your envelope. The facility requires one on all incoming mail.
