Posting Bond for Someone at Multi County Jail: Which Court, Where to Pay, and Online Options
If someone is being held at Multi County Correctional Center (MCCC), start by figuring out which court set the bond. Payment locations vary by court, and showing up at the wrong place can cost you hours.
MCCC houses people from multiple court systems. That matters because the court on the case determines where you post bond. Two people can sit in the same jail with identical bond amounts but need to pay at completely different locations. Before you grab cash or call a bondsman, confirm which court is handling the charge. Once you know, you can head straight to the right payment location (or use the online option if it applies) instead of wasting time in the wrong line.
For Marion Municipal Court bonds, you pay cash and corporate bonds at the MCCC facility itself. Don't drive downtown to a courthouse window. You handle it at the jail where the person is being held.
Marion Municipal Court bonds can also be paid online through the facility's bond payment portal. This works well if you can't get to MCCC right away or need to move quickly outside normal hours. You'll need the inmate's identification number and basic information. If you don't have the ID number, get it first. Guessing can delay the whole process.
Marion Common Pleas Court cases work differently. You cannot post these bonds at MCCC. Instead, all Marion Common Pleas Court bonds must be posted at the Marion Common Pleas Court in downtown Marion, Ohio. Plan for a separate trip, and bring whatever paperwork or case information you have so the clerk can match your payment to the right person and case.
Hardin County Municipal Court cases have their own process. Cash bonds for these cases aren't paid at MCCC. You'll need to go to the Kenton Police Department instead. Follow their procedures for payment and identification, since they're the ones processing the bond.
