How to Schedule Your First Video Visit at Muskingum County Jail
Muskingum County Jail runs video visitation through IC Solutions. Once you know where to schedule and how check-in works, your first visit is pretty straightforward.
Muskingum County Jail handles video visitation through IC Solutions, specifically their "The Visitor" system. You'll create a visitor account on the IC Solutions website, then book your time slot from there.
Create Account
- ✓ An email address (you will use it for your IC Solutions visitor account and visit confirmations)
- ✓ A computer or Android device if you plan to do an offsite (remote) visit
- ✓ If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian who can attend with you, plus proof of guardianship
- ✓ A plan to schedule through the IC Solutions site (Muskingum County Jail uses IC Solutions “The Visitor” for visit scheduling)
- Create your IC Solutions “The Visitor” account - You schedule Muskingum County Jail video visits through IC Solutions.
- Choose onsite or offsite - Onsite visits happen on video terminals in the jail lobby. Offsite visits are done from your computer or Android device.
- Pick a time and schedule the visit - Onsite visits are free for visitors. Offsite visits cost $7.50 per call.
- Watch for your confirmation email - After you schedule, IC Solutions sends an email confirmation with an access code. You will need that code to access the visit.
Cost reminder: Offsite (remote) video visits cost the visitor $7.50 per call.
Before you book, know the weekly limits. Each inmate is allowed one onsite visit and one offsite visit per week. Visits last 30 minutes. Only two visitors are permitted per visit, so if your group is larger than two, you'll need to split up across separate sessions. Timing matters here. There's a 10-minute grace period after the scheduled start time. Show up later than that, and the visit gets canceled. Aim to be ready to check in early rather than right on the dot.
Avoid Losing Visit
- ✓ Arrive and check in early. A 10-minute grace period is allowed, after that your visit is canceled.
- ✓ Bring an accepted photo ID for each visit: a valid driver’s license, a passport, an active military ID, a valid temporary driver’s license, or a valid Ohio ID card issued by the Ohio BMV.
- ✓ Do not bring unacceptable ID. Food stamp ID cards and damaged or broken ID cards will not be accepted.
- ✓ Secure personal items in your vehicle before you enter: hats, purses, wallets, handbags, cell phones, and keys.
- ✓ Follow the dress code. All visitors (including minors) must wear full-length shirts and shoes, or visitation will not be permitted.
