How Many People Can Visit at Once? Visitor Limits at New Haven Correction Center

In-person visits at New Haven Correction Center allow a maximum of two visitors - and that includes children. Decide who's coming before you arrive. Show up with three people, and someone's getting turned away.

Video visits work differently. Up to three authorized adults can join, but each one must be listed on the Visit Request Form. If someone isn't approved or isn't on the form, they won't be allowed on the call.

Each visitor needs a valid email address to schedule a video visit. Use one you check regularly - you don't want to miss scheduling confirmations or updates.

Children can join video visits, but only with a parent or legal guardian present. The adult needs to be actively participating - not just in the next room. Otherwise, the minor's participation could be denied.

Note: A minor may be excluded from a video visit if the minor is considered a victim or if there’s an active protective order between the minor and the incarcerated person.

The visitor cap depends on which type of visit you're scheduling. In-person? Two people max, kids included. Video? Up to three approved adults. Know which one you're booking before you submit paperwork or invite family - the rules aren't the same.
