To send funds by mail, you'll need a money order and a completed Inmate Trust Fund remitter form. Mail both to: Inmate Trust Fund, P.O. Box 290800, Wethersfield, CT 06129-0800.

Mailed money orders take time. CT DOC says to allow at least 10 working days for funds to post. If that window passes and the money still hasn't shown up, call 860-692-7670 to check on the status.

Want to fund tablet services like paid content? Keep the balance cap in mind: Tablet Media Accounts max out at $150. If the account is already near that limit, you won't be able to add more until the balance drops.

A change is coming: starting August 18, 2025, you'll be able to deposit funds directly into CT DOC Tablet Media Accounts. That's a shift from the current process, which requires internal steps to move money to the tablet side.

Quick tablet takeaway: Tablet Media Accounts cap at $150. Starting August 18, 2025, CT DOC will allow direct deposits into these accounts.

Tablets also handle communication. E-messaging has been available at all Connecticut correctional facilities since June 13, 2023. For account setup, funding questions, or messaging support, contact the tablet vendor: JPay.

  • Set up your JPay account
  • Add the incarcerated person to your account (as needed for e-messaging)
  • Use JPay’s funding options for tablet-related services
  • Contact JPay customer support if you run into setup, payment, or account issues

Practical-tips-verification

  • Keep your money order receipt until the funds show up on the account

  1. Mark your calendar for 10 working days - that’s the minimum window CT DOC gives for mailed money orders to post.
  2. Check whether the funds have posted - compare what you sent (money order receipt and remitter form copy) to what’s showing on the account.
  3. Call if it’s still missing after the window - contact 860-692-7670 and be ready to share the details from your receipt and remitter form.
