Bringing a Child to Visit Noble Correctional: Required Forms, Notarized Permission, and Expiration

At Noble Correctional, visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you're bringing a child, confirm that the adult going with them meets this requirement - or has proper authorization (more on that below).

Children need visitor approval before they can visit. The parent or legal guardian fills out a one-page Minor Visitation Application on the child's behalf. Complete every field and sign it. Missing information slows down approval and delays that first visit.

  • Completed one-page Minor Visitation Application
  • Copy of the child’s birth certificate, or proof of legal guardianship (whichever applies)

What if the custodial parent or legal guardian can't physically bring the child? Noble requires a notarized Authorization for Minor Child Visitation Form. This document names exactly who can bring the child - specifically, the guardian(s) on the approved visiting list - and includes permission for the child to be photographed and searched during check-in. Coordinating visits with a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or another approved adult? This form covers that situation when the custodial parent won't be there.

Note: The Authorization for Minor Child Visitation Form must be notarized. Bring it with you - without it, staff may turn away the child if the custodial parent or guardian isn't present.

The notarized authorization doesn't last forever. It expires after one year. You'll also need a new one if the facility changes - so if you're visiting Noble after a transfer, plan to complete fresh paperwork.

Bringing a Child to Visit Noble Correctional: Required Forms, Notarized Permission, and Expiration
  1. Complete the visitation application - Fill out the child’s one-page Minor Visitation Application and sign it.
  2. Attach the child’s supporting document - Include a copy of the child’s birth certificate or proof of legal guardianship.
  3. Include a copy of your ID - Add a copy of the adult applicant’s identification with the packet.
  4. Send the packet directly to Noble Correctional - Submit it by U.S. mail, fax, or email.
  5. Avoid the central mail processing center - Do not send the application packet to ODRC’s central mail processing center.

For the fastest processing, send the child's application packet directly to Noble Correctional. Include a copy of your ID. Skipping ODRC's central mail processing center avoids unnecessary delays and keeps your paperwork with the facility that actually approves the visit.
