Ohio County Jail Mail Addresses: When to Use the Highland Heights PO Box vs the Hartford Street Address
Ohio County Jail has two mailing addresses—and using the wrong one means your mail gets rejected. The Highland Heights PO Box is for regular letters from friends and family. The Hartford street address handles legal mail and money orders.
Starting April 24, 2023, the jail changed how it routes mail. All inmate mail must now go to the addresses listed below. Anything sent elsewhere gets rejected.
For regular mail from friends and family (not legal correspondence), format your envelope like this: [Inmate Name – Inmate ID] Ohio County Jail, KY PO Box 76550 Highland Heights, KY 41076 Always include both the inmate's name and ID number - it helps staff route your letter to the right person.
Legal mail works differently. Letters from attorneys or other legal representatives must go to the jail's street address - not the PO Box. Include the inmate's name and ID: [Inmate Name – Inmate ID] Ohio County Jail, KY 108 East Washington Street Hartford, KY 42347
Sending a money order? That also goes to the Hartford street address: [Inmate Name – Inmate ID] Ohio County Jail, KY 108 East Washington Street Hartford, KY 42347 Don't send money orders to the Highland Heights PO Box - they won't be processed.
Warning: Legal mail that is not sent to 108 East Washington Street in Hartford will be returned to sender.
Heads up: Certified mail that requires an inmate signature will be returned to sender.
Letters that arrive with postage due get sent back. Double-check your postage before mailing.
