Oneida County Jail Visitation Schedule: When You Can (and Can't) Visit

Each inmate gets two one-hour visits per week. Usually these can't be on the same day - but with supervisor approval, you can schedule both blocks back-to-back. If same-day visits would work better for your schedule (childcare, travel, work), call ahead to ask about availability and what they'll need from you.

Need to confirm the schedule or ask about an exception? Call the Oneida County Correctional Facility visitation phone at (315) 765-2380.

Regular Slots

  • Tuesday & Thursday visit times: 7:30, 8:45, 10:15, 12:00, 1:30
  • Wednesday visit times: 10:30, 12:15, 1:30, 3:30, 4:45

Even with set time slots, double-check before you go. Hours are posted in the visitation lobby and can change, so what you remember from last month may not match the current schedule. For time-sensitive visits, a quick call to the visitation line before you leave can save you a wasted trip.

Visitation is closed on four holidays: the 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Plan accordingly.

Oneida County Jail Visitation Schedule: When You Can (and Can't) Visit
  1. Pick a time slot and build in a buffer - you must arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled visiting time to register.
  2. Check in early, not right on time - if you’re late, you won’t be allowed to visit (no exceptions).
  3. If you’re unsure about timing or availability, call first - the visitation line is (315) 765-2380.

Denied at the door: Anyone showing signs, symptoms, or the odor of alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs will be denied visitation. You can also be turned away for inappropriate attire such as pants with holes, hoodies, obviously revealing shirts, spaghetti-strap shirts, or shorts above the fingertips (with arms straight down).

First time visiting? Look for the "Public Safety Complex" sign. The visitation lobby entrance is directly below it - that's where you'll check in.

Visits are first-come, first-served. Arriving early does more than protect you from the 15-minute cutoff - it also helps you avoid getting squeezed out when a rush of visitors shows up. If you're traveling from out of town or coordinating with others, I'd call the visitation phone before leaving to confirm what's running that day.

Faq Quick

  • Plan around the weekly limit: two one-hour visiting blocks per inmate, per week.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes early to register - late arrivals lose the visit.
  • Confirm details by phone: (315) 765-2380.
