How to Set Up Your TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler Account (Pam Lychner visitors)

Setting up your TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account is mostly a one-time thing, but a few details can trip you up (especially your email and phone number format). Follow the steps below to get registered and ready to schedule visits.

Head to the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler login page: https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action. If you already have an account, log in with your email and password. If not, look for the account creation option on that same screen to get started.

Note: The TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler is only available to residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

When you create a new account, you'll enter the email address you want to use. The system sends you a 7-digit validation code along with a link to finish registration. Click that link, re-enter your email address, and type in the 7-digit code from the email.

Warning: Once an account is tied to an email address, it cannot be deleted, and the email cannot be changed. Use an email you'll control long-term and can reliably access.

You have to create the account yourself. TDCJ staff cannot create visitor accounts. They can only help with updates (like names and addresses) after your account already exists. That's one more reason to slow down at the start and double-check you're registering with the right email.

During setup, you'll be taken to the Background Questionnaire. Every question must be answered before you can move forward. If you skip anything, the system won't let you proceed, so take your time and complete the whole questionnaire in one sitting if possible. After submitting the questionnaire, you'll also need to fill out your visitor profile. Watch for fields marked with an asterisk (*). Those are required. If you see red text saying your profile is incomplete, go back into your profile and finish the missing items before trying to schedule anything.

  • Enter your phone number as: XXX XXX XXXX
  • Use spaces, not dashes
  • Do not type it like 123-456-7890 (the system expects spaces)

To add the person you want to visit, enter their TDCJ number or SID number when prompted. The number must be exactly 8 digits long. If it's shorter or longer, the scheduler won't accept it.

  1. Go back to the scheduler login screen - Use the same TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler login page you normally sign in on.
  2. Enter your email address - Type the email tied to your scheduler account.
  3. Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - This starts the reset process.
  4. Follow the email instructions - The system will send an email with the steps you need to reset your password.

Final Tips

  • Double-check the email address you are registering with before you finish, because it cannot be changed later and the account cannot be deleted.
  • Plan to complete the setup yourself, TDCJ staff cannot create visitor accounts.
  • If you need help later, staff can assist with certain updates after your account exists.
