Visiting someone at Pima County Jail goes smoothly when you handle two things up front: schedule ahead and show up with the right ID—on time. Use this checklist so you don't get turned away at the front desk.
On-site visits have to be scheduled in advance - at least one day ahead and up to seven days ahead. Same-day walk-in visits aren’t accepted, so don’t plan to just show up and hope for an opening. You can schedule online or use the kiosk in the main entrance lobby, and visits are booked first-come, first-served. Visitation hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No visits on Federal Holidays - if you're planning around a long weekend, check the calendar before picking a day.
Each inmate gets one free 30-minute on-site visit per week. Want to visit more often? Additional 30-minute sessions cost $9.00 per inmate, per day.

- ✓ Bring a valid photo ID for check-in
- ✓ Plan to be on time: visits start and end at the scheduled times, and arriving late can get the visit canceled
Keep your group small - no more than four people can visit an inmate at once. If more family members want to come, plan separate visits.
Important: Juveniles must be accompanied by at least one adult. Children need to stay supervised and can't be left unattended at any time.
Plan your whole trip around the scheduled start time. Visits run on the clock - they start and end at the scheduled times no matter when you arrive. Show up late and you may lose your visit entirely. That's why scheduling ahead (one to seven days in advance) and arriving early go hand-in-hand.
