All personal (non-privileged) video visits at Pima County Jail may be monitored and recorded by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and ViaPath Technologies. Assume every visit can be reviewed. Keep your behavior and surroundings appropriate for a jail visitation setting.

Both you and the inmate must stay visible and identifiable for the entire visit. If either person can't be identified, expect a warning first. After that, the visit can be terminated and additional restrictions may be placed on the account(s). On the inmate's side, the tablet must stay on the NFC visit station for all visits, and the camera cannot be covered. If you notice the camera view is blocked or the device is being moved around, have your loved one fix it right away so the visit doesn't get cut off.

Warning: Nudity, self-stimulation, or any form of sexual activity by you or the inmate during a video visit is prohibited.

Warning: Do not take photos or video recordings of the inmate during the visit.

Warning: Three-way calls or visits are not allowed. If this happens, the visit will be terminated and your visitation privileges will be suspended for 30 days.

Warning: You may only visit with the scheduled inmate account holder, not multiple inmates. Visiting anyone other than the scheduled inmate can trigger a 30-day restriction for you. The inmates involved may face disciplinary action or a 15-day suspension per occurrence.

Pima County Jail can cancel a video visit for any rule violation. Violations result in a 30-day suspension on your visitor account and can lead to you being barred from further visitation at the discretion of PCADC/VIAPATH staff. The inmate may face additional action as well.

Don't do a video visit while a vehicle is in motion, even as a passenger. If you need to travel, end the visit and reconnect later from a stationary location.

Practical Tips

  • Stay fully and properly dressed for the entire visit, and keep everything strictly non-sexual on camera.
  • Keep your face visible the whole time so you can be identified.
  • If the inmate’s camera view looks blocked, have them place the tablet on the NFC visit station and make sure the camera is not covered.
  • Do not take screenshots, photos, or recordings of the inmate during the visit.
  • Only visit with the scheduled inmate account holder, do not try to include or switch to another inmate.

Before you hit "start," take a few seconds to check your setup and confirm who is on the call. A simple mistake can still cancel the visit, suspend your visitor account for 30 days, and potentially get you barred from future visits. Your loved one may face additional action too.
