Before your first visit to Pinal County Jail: ID, what to wear, and what you cannot bring

You must be 18 or older to visit at Pinal County Adult Detention. Anyone under 18 won't be allowed in under the facility's standard rules.

Bring a valid, state-issued photo ID that shows your date of birth. Staff check your ID at the front desk during check-in, and you’ll need it to be authorized for visitation.

You'll go through a criminal-records check as part of the approval process. If you have pending felony charges, the jail will deny you access.

If you’re wearing a skirt or shorts, keep the length to mid-thigh or longer. Anything higher than mid-thigh can get you turned away before you ever make it into the visitation area.

Sleeveless shirts are allowed, but tank tops, halter tops, and spaghetti straps are not. The jail also prohibits midriff (mid-drift) shirts and see-through clothing - choose something with full coverage.

Prohibited Items

  • Hats
  • Sunglasses
  • Purses
  • Cell phones
  • Electronic devices

No electronics allowed. Pinal County Adult Detention prohibits all electronic devices - cameras, tape recorders, cell phones. The only exception is for law enforcement and legal personnel.

For an on-site video visit, check in at the jail lobby front desk. Bring only your keys and ID - anything else can slow you down or get you turned away.

Be prepared to be searched. Staff can search your person, your belongings, and even your vehicle using metal detectors or a Pinal County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Detection Service canine.

If you don't clear screening, you'll be denied visitation and required to leave facility property immediately.
