Pinal County Jail mail address change (effective Jan 11, 2026): what to send where

Starting January 11, 2026, all personal mail - letters, cards, anything from friends and family - should go to P.O. Box 20366, Tampa, Florida 33622. Send it to an old address and you're looking at delays or returned mail. Update your address book now.

When addressing personal mail, include the incarcerated person's name and ID number exactly as required. The jail's format: start with "Incarcerated Name & ID #," then "Pinal County Adult Detention Center," then the Tampa P.O. Box. That name-and-ID line is how staff match your mail to the right person.

Not everything goes to Tampa. Legal mail, money orders, and publications sent directly from a publisher, distributor, or authorized retailer still need the Florence address: Inmate Full Name – Inmate ID, c/o Pinal County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 2610, Florence, AZ 85132. If what you're sending fits one of those categories, use the Florence P.O. Box.

Money orders require extra attention. The facility says it's not responsible for money orders sent to the wrong address. They'll try to recover misdirected funds, but don't count on it. Double-check you're using the Florence P.O. Box before mailing.

Always include a clear return name and address on your envelope. Missing return info? The mail gets sent back.

  • Write a legible return name and return address on the outside of the envelope
  • If you want photographs returned, include a stamped, self-addressed envelope inside your mailing

Common Mistakes

  • Sending personal letters/cards to the Florence P.O. Box instead of P.O. Box 20366 in Tampa (effective Jan 11, 2026)
  • Sending legal mail, money orders, or qualifying publications to the Tampa P.O. Box instead of P.O. Box 2610 in Florence
  • Leaving off the incarcerated person’s name and ID number, or not using the required “Incarcerated Name & ID #” / “Inmate Full Name – Inmate ID” style
  • Mailing an envelope without a clear return name and return address (it can be returned)
  • Sending a money order to the wrong address and assuming the facility will fix it (they are not responsible, even if they’ll try to recover it)

Tip: Before mailing, ask yourself: personal mail or legal/official? Match it to the right P.O. Box. Always include a readable return name and address - and triple-check money orders.
