Sending Food Packages to Someone at Pulaski Prison: How to Order, Fees, and Limits (Union Supply)
Sending a food package to someone at Pulaski Prison means going through the Georgia Department of Corrections' approved vendor program. Here's how to order, what it costs, and the limits that could get your order rejected.
The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) uses Union Supply to handle food-package orders for inmates at State Prisons, including Pulaski Prison. You can't send a personal box from home - everything has to go through the approved program, using only items that have been pre-cleared for inmates.
Deadline: Any orders received after the deadline will not be accepted.
To order by mail, send your completed Union Supply order to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Double-check that everything on the form is filled out - missing details can delay your order.
You can place an order by phone at 1-562-361-5719, or use the toll-free number 1-855-247-0563. Phone ordering works well if you want to confirm details as you go, especially for first-time orders.
Fax orders go to 1-310-603-1188.
Tip: Order forms are available to download from the GDC site, which makes it easier to use the correct form and stick to the pre-approved item list.
Every Union Supply order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling charge. That fee is non-refundable - even if your order gets rejected, you won't get it back.
For State Prisons and Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), GDC caps packages at $100 per offender or 15 lbs. - whichever you hit first. Staying under the dollar amount won't help if you exceed the weight limit, and vice versa.
Probation Detention Centers have a lower cap: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package, whichever comes first. If your loved one is at a different facility type than you expected, this is one of the fastest ways an order can get rejected.
Multiple orders for the same offender get consolidated into a single package. The combined package still has to stay within the spending and weight limits - splitting items into separate orders won't let you go over the cap.
Not every Georgia facility uses Union Supply. Riverbend Private Prison, for example, still uses Access Securepak until further notice. Confirm you're using the right vendor before spending money on an order.
Verify first: GDC allows Union Supply orders for State Prisons (including Pulaski), but some facilities use a different vendor - confirm the correct program for your loved one’s location before you place an order.
GDC offers a downloadable PDF with the full food-package program details. If you want a printable reference for the rules and ordering process, grab it from the GDC site.
The bottom line: Union Supply is the approved vendor for food packages at State Prisons, including Pulaski Prison. Stick to the program's process and approved items, and your package will get through.
