How to Schedule Your First In-Person Visit at Redgranite Correctional Institution

Before picking a time, make sure two things are in place: approval and timing. RGCI only allows visits for people on the DOC-approved visitor list, so scheduling won't help if you haven't been approved yet. There are also weekly limits on the incarcerated person's end - they can have up to three in-person visits per week, and only one can fall on a weekend. RGCI also restricts when you can book: at least 48 hours ahead, but no more than 14 days out. No last-minute visits, no booking too far in advance.

First, confirm you're on the DOC-approved visitor list for RGCI. If you're not approved, you won't be allowed to visit - even if you find an open slot. Not sure if you're on the list? Ask the person you're visiting. They can usually confirm who's approved before you spend time trying to schedule.

RGCI uses ICSolutions for visit scheduling. You'll book your in-person (contact) visit through their online system - the same platform handles video visits too. Sign in or create an account if it's your first time, then pick an available time slot that fits RGCI's scheduling rules.

When you’re choosing an appointment time, the booking window matters. RGCI requires in-person visits to be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance, and you can’t schedule more than 14 days ahead. If you’re trying to visit soon, count forward at least two days; if you’re planning for later, don’t look beyond the two-week mark.

Keep the "visit week" in mind. At RGCI, the week runs Monday through Sunday, and the person you're visiting can have up to three in-person visits during that time. Only one can be on the weekend. If you're hoping for a Saturday or Sunday slot, coordinate with other family or friends so you don't accidentally use up the weekend visit on a different day.

Plan your group and paperwork before heading out. Everyone 16 or older needs photo ID - staff will check it. RGCI also caps visit groups: a maximum of 10 approved visitors total, no more than five adults, and at least one adult must be present.

RGCI controls when visitors can enter the lobby - you won't be let in until ten minutes before visiting hours start, so arriving extremely early won't get you inside sooner. Bringing baby supplies? Pack them in a clear plastic bag for easy inspection.

Build in extra time to get checked in. RGCI won't admit visitors who arrive more than 30 minutes past the scheduled start time. Traffic or unexpected delays can cost you the whole visit, so don't cut it close.

If you use ICSolutions for video visits too, take no-shows seriously. Charges can still apply even if the incarcerated person or the visitor doesn't show up. When you can't make an appointment, cancel or reschedule in advance - otherwise you're paying for time you didn't use.
