Who can visit at RGCI: group size limits, age rules, and ID requirements
Visiting at RGCI goes a lot smoother when you plan your group ahead of time and show up with the right ID. Here's what you need to know about group size limits, age rules, and identification requirements.
RGCI allows a maximum of 10 approved visitors per visit session. Bringing extended family? Plan the group carefully ahead of time so you don't exceed the cap.
Of those 10 visitors, no more than five can be adults. If your group includes both adults and kids, keep that adult cap in mind when deciding who comes this time.
At least one adult must be part of every visit. If minors are coming, make sure an adult is included in the group, or you'll be turned away at check-in.
Anyone age 16 or older must show photo identification at check-in. Staff will ask for it when you arrive, so have it ready before you reach the desk.
Video visits require a valid state ID too. You'll need to show it at the start of the session. Only pre-approved visitors for that scheduled visit can join, so don't try to add someone last minute.
Accepted IDs: RGCI lists examples of acceptable photo IDs in its official visitation guide. Check that document before you go so you bring the right type of identification.
RGCI offers an accommodation for Amish visitors who don't carry photo ID for religious reasons. You'll need to provide the institution with a signed and notarized affidavit from your Bishop describing each proposed visitor's physical characteristics.
