River City Video Visit Rules: What Can Get a Call Terminated
Video visits are a lifeline—and it's frustrating when one gets cut short. At River City, certain behaviors will end the call immediately. Here's what to avoid before you hit
River City can end a video visit right away if a visitor (or the resident) breaks the rules. The biggest call-enders are behavior that escalates the situation - like being argumentative - plus anything sexual on camera, profanity, or appearing under the influence. The facility also treats weapons, drugs, and other contraband very seriously; those situations don’t just risk a terminated visit, they can lead to further consequences.
- ✓ Argumentative behavior during the video visit
- ✓ Sexual gestures or sexual behavior on camera
- ✓ Profanity
- ✓ Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or using drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products in the facility
- ✓ Having weapons, drugs, or any other contraband identified by River City (this may also result in criminal charges)
On the resident side, River City requires residents to be in uniform for video visits: full-length bottoms and a treatment shirt. If your loved one isn’t dressed correctly, it can interfere with the visit.
Residents also have to stay seated for the entire visit. The kiosk camera view has to remain fully visible, too - no blocking the camera with items or with another person. If the screen view is obstructed, the visit can be stopped.
At River City, video visits are audio and video recorded. The facility can terminate a visit at any time.
Remember: A rule violation can end the call immediately - especially argumentative behavior, sexual behavior, profanity, being under the influence/using tobacco, or anything involving weapons, drugs, or contraband.
