SCI Greene provides DOC-approved tablets from ViaPath Technologies. These devices let incarcerated people send and receive email, listen to music, read ebooks, and use approved apps like games. Purchases inside the tablet use link units, and you can add funds through the facility Lobby Kiosk. To help cover tablet costs, friends and family typically send money to the person's account using a JPay account. Inmates order tablets through the DOC commissary. One catch: the tablets don't have Wi-Fi or camera capability while in prison, and they include a 30-day "mortality timer." SCI Greene routes inmate mail through a central processing facility. Address your letters to the Smart Communications PO Box in St. Petersburg, Florida (listed for this facility)—not directly to the prison. All incoming and outgoing mail gets inspected and screened for contraband. Legal or privileged mail receives special handling and isn't read during contraband checks. Many facilities use third-party processors to open, scan, and forward non-privileged mail, and this routing follows that model. To avoid delays, include the inmate's full booked name and required identifier. Print your full return name and address on everything you send. For urgent situations like a death or family emergency, contact the inmate's counselor, unit manager, or the prison chaplain. You can also write or call the superintendent's office to request that letters be stopped.
