Your First Visit to RMC Work Camp: What to Bring and What to Leave Behind
Your first visit to RMC Work Camp will go much smoother if you show up with only what's allowed. Pack light, follow the rules below, and you'll breeze through screening instead of getting turned away at the door.
Anyone 16 or older needs a valid photo ID to enter the visiting area. Bringing a younger visitor? Anyone 12 and up must complete the visitation application form before their visit. Handle that paperwork ahead of time - otherwise you might be making a second trip.
Bring cash for vending machines, but keep it simple. Each visitor can carry up to $50 in $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills - that's it. No coins, no larger bills.
Whatever you buy from the vending machines stays in the visiting area. Snacks and drinks must be consumed on-site and purchased by visitors only.
No cash to inmates: Under no circumstances will money be given to an inmate.
Need prescription medication during your visit? Bring only what you'll need for the time you're there - no extra doses. Keep each medication in its original container with a readable label showing the medication type, dosage, and your name.
Infant Toddler Limits
- ✓ No more than five (5) diapers
- ✓ No more than three (3) clear baby bottles
- ✓ No more than two (2) toddler sipper cups
- ✓ No more than three (3) clear plastic jars of sealed (unopened) baby food
Security screening happens every time. You and your belongings will be searched before entering, so the less you bring, the faster you'll get through.
Plan to store your own items: Department staff are not allowed to hold or store items for visitors under any circumstances.
