Robinson Correctional Center

All visits at Robinson Correctional Center are scheduled online through SignUpGenius, and you can reserve a time up to 30 days in advance. Before your first in-person visit, every adult visitor must complete the Prospective Visitor's Interview (PVI) DOC 0148 unless you're approved electronically. Bring current photo ID, be ready to provide vehicle information, and make sure you're on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list—government officials and legal visitors are exceptions. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. Expect COVID-19 symptom and temperature screening along with searches of persons, vehicles, and belongings. Most personal items aren't allowed in the Visiting Room, but small lockers are available at no charge for permitted items.

Robinson Correctional Center has moved video and phone services to ICSolutions as part of an IDOC vendor change. You'll handle registration, scheduling, and account setup through ICSolutions—not by calling the facility. When you register, adding your old GTL Visitor ID can help speed approval. Video visits must be scheduled at least seven days in advance and won't be scheduled during institutional count from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Each person in custody can receive one video visit per day and no more than two per week (including people in restrictive housing). All video visits are monitored and recorded. At Robinson Correctional Center, incoming non-privileged mail is delivered digitally. Staff scan mail in full color—front and back of the envelope plus contents—then upload the PDF images to the incarcerated person's Bulletin Board for tablet viewing. For most personal correspondence, these scanned PDFs are the primary way mail is received. Publications work differently: they're not scanned or photocopied. Hardback books aren't allowed as incoming mail items. If you need a paper copy or access to the original, you'll need to follow the facility's request process, which typically requires a formal request and staff approval.

Robinson Correctional Center uses ICSolutions for prepaid phone funding. To add money for calls, create an ICSolutions prepaid account through the ICSolutions facility page. This replaced prior phone-vendor workflows for affected IDOC facilities. If your loved one previously used Securus Advance Connect, plan for the transition: existing Securus balances won't automatically transfer to ICSolutions, so you may need to re-fund through ICSolutions. Including identifying details like a GTL Visitor ID when you register can help approval move faster. For any deposit, double-check the incarcerated person's full name and booking/ID number (or date of birth) so funds post to the right account. Posting times vary by method—electronic deposits typically post faster than mailed ones, and transfers or outstanding obligations can affect availability.
