How to Schedule Your First Visit at Robinson Correctional Center

Start with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) inmate search tool. Look up the incarcerated person to confirm two things: you have the right individual, and they're actually housed at Robinson Correctional Center. This saves you from scheduling a visit at the wrong facility.

Adult visitors (18 and older) need to complete the Prospective Visitor's Interview (PVI) before their first visit. IDOC uses form DOC 0148 for this. If you've already been approved through the electronic PVI process, you can skip it.

Beyond the PVI, you must be on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list. Government officials and legal visitors are the exception. The incarcerated person manages their own list and lets people know their visiting status - if you're unsure whether you're approved, write them and ask.

Arrive at Robinson Correctional Center at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time. That buffer gets you through check-in without eating into your visit - or worse, missing it entirely.
