What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for Your Robinson Visit
A little prep before you leave the house can save you a wasted trip. Here's what to bring, what to leave behind, and what to know about searches and medication rules at Robinson Correctional Center.
Adults need two forms of ID - one must be a current, state-issued photo ID. Bringing a child? Visitors under 18 don't need to show photo identification.
You'll need to provide vehicle information at check-in. If you're riding with someone else, jot down the make, model, and plate number before you arrive - you don't want to be guessing at the desk.
Prohibited Items
- ✓ Electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, smart watches)
- ✓ Food or drinks
- ✓ Smoking materials
- ✓ Currency
- ✓ Packages
- ✓ Purses or bags
- ✓ Books or magazines
- ✓ Sunglasses
- ✓ Personal keys
Show up with a prohibited item? Don't expect exceptions. Robinson has small lockers in the Visiting Center where you can store personal items before entering the Visiting Room.
Robinson doesn't allow pills or medication in the Visiting Room - with two exceptions: physician-prescribed heart medication and physician-prescribed asthma inhalers. Everything else stays outside.
Note: If you need to bring physician-prescribed heart medication into the Visiting Room, it must be in a properly labeled container.
Searches are part of the deal. All visitors, vehicles, and belongings are subject to search. Refuse, and you risk having your visiting privileges denied, suspended, or restricted.
Arrive sober. Visitors who appear intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs won't be allowed in.
