Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Detention Center suspended regular onsite visitation due to COVID-19. Right now, only attorneys can visit in person. Everyone else connects through at-home video visitation instead of coming to the jail.

At-home visits are scheduled through Securus. You’ll start by creating a Securus account and following the prompts to set up visitation for the person you want to see. After you submit your information, the jail’s Inmate Affairs office has to approve it, and you should allow about 24 hours for that approval.

Timing matters, especially right after someone is booked. Rockdale County Jail allows you to schedule a visit 24 hours after the person has been booked into the RCSO Jail. Factor in the approval step too. Since Inmate Affairs approval can take about 24 hours, don't expect your first available visit slot to be immediate.

Visiting Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 5:30pm to 10:00pm (first come basis)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 6:00pm (first come basis)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 7:30pm to 10:00pm (first come basis)

Onsite Rules

  • If you are 17 or older, bring a government-issued photo ID (for example, a state driver’s license or ID, passport, resident alien card, or U.S. military ID)
  • If a visitor is under 17, they can only visit if they are immediate family and they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
  • Wear a shirt and shoes to enter the visitation lobby or visitation area
  • Do not attempt to visit if you are under the influence of illegal drugs or intoxicants, you will not be allowed to visit

If you ever need to visit onsite (for an attorney visit, or if the jail reopens in-person visits later), arrive on time. You must sign in with the deputy supervising visitation by the start of the visitation period. Show up late, and you won't be allowed to visit.
