How Roederer Decides Your Visit Day: Understanding the Odd/Even ID System
At Roederer Corrections Complex, your visit day comes down to one thing: the last digit of the inmate's institutional ID number. Once you know that digit, you can figure out whether their in-person visit falls on Saturday or Sunday for that month's visitation weekend.
Roederer uses an odd/even system based on the last digit of the inmate's institutional ID number. If the ID ends in an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, 8), the inmate receives visits on Saturdays during even-numbered months and on Sundays during odd-numbered months. Odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)? It flips. Visits fall on Saturdays during odd-numbered months and Sundays during even-numbered months. Quick example: if the ID ends in 4 (even), the visit day is Saturday in an even month like June, and Sunday in an odd month like July.
Example: If the inmate’s ID ends in 6 (even), they visit on Saturday in June (an even month) and on Sunday in July (an odd month).
In-person visitation at Roederer Correctional Complex happens twice a month. That's exactly why the odd/even ID rule matters so much. It determines which day of the visitation weekend your person can actually receive visitors.
For Assessment Center inmates (Units 1, 2, and 3), visiting hours run from 8:30am until 3:00pm. Visits are limited to one hour max. There's also a waiting period. Assessment Center inmates must be at the Assessment Center for 60 days before they're eligible for a visit. If you're planning ahead, you can submit visitor applications after the inmate has been at the facility for 45 days, even though the visit itself can't happen until they hit that 60-day mark.
For permanent inmates, visiting hours are also 8:30am until 3:00pm, but visits can last up to two hours. Which day you visit (Saturday or Sunday) still depends on the odd/even ID system described above. The facility assigns each inmate to one day per visitation weekend based on that last ID digit.
- ✓ There is no vending available during visitation, and you are not allowed to bring money into the visitation room.
- ✓ There is a maximum of three visitors per table, including children.
Roederer has a hard cutoff for entry: visitors must arrive no later than 2:00pm to be allowed in. Visiting hours technically run until 3:00pm, but treat 2:00pm as your last chance to get through the door. Show up after that, and you can be turned away entirely.
Tip: With in-person visitation only happening twice a month, it's worth showing up early on your assigned weekend. The check-in cutoff is 2:00pm, and late arrivals can lose their visit.
If you're not 100% sure which day applies, verify the inmate's last institutional ID digit before you travel, then apply the odd/even rule. Double-checking the facility's official visiting information for the most current guidance is always a good idea, too.
- Find the last digit of the institutional ID: You only need the final number.
- Match it to the month and day: Even-ending IDs visit Saturday in even months and Sunday in odd months. Odd-ending IDs visit Saturday in odd months and Sunday in even months.
- Confirm before you go: Since visitation is only held twice a month, check the facility’s current visiting information to make sure you’re traveling on the correct day.
