Understanding Roger D. Wilson's visitation schedule: which units get visits on which days

Inmates at Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility get two scheduled visits per week. Here's the catch: those visits are tied to a housing-unit rotation. The days and times available to you depend on which unit your loved one is assigned to.

Every visit must be scheduled through the facility's online system. Create an account using their scheduling link, then choose from the sessions available for your loved one's unit. Confirm the unit first - it determines which slots you can book.

A schedule line like "Unit 2 and 3" tells you which housing units can receive visits during that session. The schedule splits by day and time (mornings vs. evenings), with each session listing eligible units. Here's how the rotation works: Sunday morning covers Unit 2 and Unit 3; Sunday evening shifts to Unit 3 and Unit 4. Monday morning is Unit 2 and Unit 3, while Monday evening is Unit 3 and Unit 4. Tuesday morning includes Unit 1 and Unit 3, and Tuesday evening is Unit 2 and Unit 3. Wednesday morning and evening both cover Unit 1 and Unit 3. Thursday morning is Unit 3 and Unit 4. Notice that Unit 3 appears in almost every session - if your loved one is there, you'll have plenty of options. Unit 1 is more limited, showing up Tuesday and Wednesday mornings plus Wednesday evenings.

Example: If the schedule says Sunday morning is “Unit 2 and 3,” that session is available to people housed in Unit 2 or Unit 3. Sunday evening switches to “Unit 3 and 4,” which is a different group of units.

Even with multiple sessions on the calendar, the two-visits-per-week limit still applies. You'll pick up to two visits from the sessions that match your loved one's unit. The rotation determines what's available to book in the first place.

  • Confirm your loved one’s current housing unit before you choose a day/time.
  • Match that unit to the day/time session that lists it (for example, “Unit 2 and 3”).
  • Create an account and reserve the visit through the facility’s scheduling link.

Housing assignments can change, and a unit move affects which days your loved one is eligible for visits. Not sure which unit they're in? Call Inmate Services at 865-281-6700 to confirm before you book.
