How to Schedule Your First Visit at Rogers State Prison
Visiting for the first time? It's straightforward once you know the steps. At Rogers State Prison, you'll need to get approved first, then submit your visit request through Georgia's online scheduling tool—before the weekly cutoff.
Before you can schedule a visit, you need to become an approved visitor. Start by filling out the Visitation Request Form and sending it to Rogers State Prison. You can download the form from the Georgia Department of Corrections website - it's the first step in the approval process.
Once you're approved, scheduling happens online. You'll submit your request through the Georgia Department of Corrections' "Request a Scheduled Visit" form. Don't plan on showing up in person to book - it doesn't work that way.
Double-check that you're selecting the right facility when you fill out the form. Rogers State Prison is at 300 Patrol Road, Forsyth, GA 31029. If your loved one has been transferred between facilities, this address can help you confirm you've got the right location.
The form asks for basic details so staff can match your request to the right person. You'll enter the offender's GDC ID, then your own information: name, relationship to the incarcerated person, and date of birth. You'll also select your ID type (driver's license, state ID, etc.) and provide an email address and phone number for follow-up.
Visiting hours depend on custody status. General population visits are Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Protective custody visits run the same days but earlier - 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
- ✓ For weekend visits, submit your request by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.
- ✓ For state-holiday visits, submit your request by 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.
Your approved visit can still be affected by facility operations. The Georgia Department of Corrections may suspend visitation for security reasons. If the Warden suspends visits, the Ombudsman unit can't overturn that decision.
Visits can also be refused or revoked based on your behavior or paperwork issues. Anyone suspected of bringing contraband - or caught attempting it - will be denied visitation. The same goes for being deceptive on the significant other form or ignoring repeated warnings about specific actions. If you're denied, pay attention to the reason given and follow up directly with the facility.
