Visiting Rogers State Prison: step-by-step guide to approval, scheduling, and hours

General population visitation at Rogers State Prison runs Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is the main schedule most visitors use. If it's your first visit, build your day around that window so you're not rushing.

Protective custody has different - and much shorter - hours: Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. That one-hour window goes fast. Plan ahead and treat it as a completely separate schedule from general population.

  1. Fill out the Visitation Request Form - this is the first step to become an approved visitor.
  2. Submit the completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated - your approval starts with the inmate’s facility receiving your paperwork.

Once you're in the approval process (or already approved), the next step is scheduling. Submit your visit request through the online form on the Georgia Department of Corrections visitation page. Don't show up expecting walk-in visiting - use that form to request your appointment.

Not everyone fits the "immediate family" category - but that doesn't mean they're excluded. Step-parents, step-siblings, in-laws, aunts and uncles, cousins, half-siblings, nieces and nephews, step-sons or step-daughters, friends, employers, and pastors can qualify as "significant relationship" visitors. These are relationships that support rehabilitation. Here's the catch: the offender must initiate the request. If you're visiting in one of these roles, coordinate with your loved one so they can start the process from their side.
