How to Schedule a Visit at Ross Correctional: the 7–30 Day Window and GTL Registration

You can't just show up at Ross Correctional - all visits require reservations through the online visitor portal. The facility uses a strict booking window: schedule at least seven days ahead, but no more than 30 days out.

Think of it as a moving range tied to your visit date. Want to visit on a specific day? You can reserve that slot starting 30 days before and up until seven days before. Inside that range, you're good to schedule. Outside it, the portal won't let you book - either too early or too late.

Note: If you need to cancel, Ross requires you to do it at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit.

After your visitation application gets approved, there's still one more step before you can book: register through GTL at gtlvisitme.com. Once that's done, you'll use the online visitor portal to reserve your Ross Correctional visit.

Tip: Set up your GTL registration early. Make sure you can sign in before your 7–30 day booking window opens - don't wait until the last minute.

Application Before Registration

  • Visiting Application (DRC2096)
  • Signed Declaration of Understanding (DRC2554)
  • Signed General Visiting Instructions (DRC2274)
  • A copy of your bona fide identification

Send your application packet directly to Ross Correctional - not to ODRC's central mail processing center. This is a common mistake that delays approvals.

  1. Complete the required paperwork - Fill out the Visiting Application (DRC2096), and sign the Declaration of Understanding (DRC2554) and General Visiting Instructions (DRC2274). Include a copy of your bona fide ID.
  2. Submit your packet to Ross Correctional - Your application has to go to the facility you want to visit.
  3. Register with GTL after you’re approved - Once approved, create your account at gtlvisitme.com so you can make visit reservations.

Plans change. If you need to cancel, do it at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit. Anything later won't meet Ross Correctional's cancellation requirement.

Recommendation: Know you can't make it? Cancel early. Don't wait until you're right up against the 24-hour cutoff.

Tips Pitfalls

  • Count backwards from your target visit date: you can book only within the 7–30 day window.
  • Set a reminder for the first day you’re allowed to schedule (30 days out) so you don’t miss good slots.
  • If plans change, cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit.
  • After you’re approved, complete your GTL registration (gtlvisitme.com) before you try to reserve a visit in the portal.

Two mistakes slow people down most often: sending the application to the wrong place, and forgetting ID. Mail your packet to Ross Correctional (not ODRC's central processing center), and include a copy of your bona fide identification to avoid delays.
