Visiting Someone in Reception at Ross Correctional: Special Rules and Schedule
Visiting someone in reception (CRC) at Ross Correctional works differently than general population visits. Here's what you need to know about the first-week restriction, monthly limits, ID-based scheduling, and processing cutoffs.
The biggest difference for reception visits? Timing. Your loved one can't receive visitors during their first eight (8) days at C.R.C. This waiting period is standard for reception - so if you're told they're not eligible yet, don't worry. Plan your first visit for after day eight.
Once the waiting period ends, visits are limited. Each person on the approved visiting list can visit two (2) times per calendar month. If multiple family members want to visit, coordinate your trips so everyone gets a chance.
There's also a cap on group size. A maximum of five (5) visitors can attend a reception visit at one time - and yes, that count includes children.
Reception visits are scheduled by the last digit of the incarcerated person's ID number. Mondays are for IDs ending in 1 or 2. Check their ID before picking your day.
Tuesdays are for IDs ending in 3 or 4. Tuesday also includes Mental Health.
- Choose the right processing window - Visitor processing happens 8:00am–9:15am for the AM session and 11:00am–1:00pm for the PM session.
- Make sure you’re processed before the cutoff - You must be processed prior to 9:15am for the AM session and by 1:00pm for the PM session, or you can miss the session even if you arrive later.
Reminder: Pick your day based on the last digit of their ID (Monday = 1/2; Tuesday = 3/4 and Mental Health). Arrive early enough to be processed before the 9:15am or 1:00pm cutoff.
