What You Can — and Can’t — Send to an Inmate at Scioto County Jail

If you're trying to get basics to someone at Scioto County Jail, here's the main rule: items sent directly from the public aren't allowed. Don't bring personal items expecting staff to pass them along - they won't.

Scioto County Jail runs an inmate commissary for everyday needs and small comforts. Inmates can order hygiene items, candy, chips, snacks, stamped envelopes, paper, pencils, coffee, and even board games. You can't drop off commissary items yourself - everything has to be ordered through the Scioto County Jail Commissary Kiosk.

Want to send something as a family member or friend? The jail's approved option is Access Securepak, an online care-package program. This is separate from the in-jail commissary kiosk and lets outside supporters send packages through the proper channel.

The commissary kiosk handles regular, week-to-week items inmates order for themselves - hygiene supplies, snacks, writing materials. Access Securepak is the route for family and friends who want to send a package from outside.

• ✓ Commissary orders can be placed twice a week: once on Monday and once on Thursday.
• ✓ For an inmate to use money from their commissary account for an order, all money must be deposited no later than 9:30 a.m. on the day the order is submitted.
• ✓ Commissary orders are limited to $60.00 per order.
