What Happens If You're Late to Your SCORE Video Visit?
If you join a SCORE video visit late, the clock doesn't reset. You only get whatever time is left in your scheduled slot.
SCORE's video visits run on a fixed clock. Your visit starts and ends at the scheduled times, and it won't restart if you miss the beginning. Even a few minutes late? That's time you lose with your loved one.
This comes down to how SCORE handles scheduling. Remote visits need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance and no more than 7 days out. Same-day video visits aren't available. Everything goes through Securus, from registration to your appointment time to the actual join process.

If you connect late, your visit still happens. But the schedule doesn't shift for you. The end time stays locked in, so a late connection just means less time together.
SCORE schedules video visits in 25-minute increments. That full slot is what you're aiming for. Connect 5 minutes late, and you're looking at roughly 20 minutes of conversation. Ten minutes late? About 15 minutes. The end time doesn't budge either way, so treat the start time like a hard cutoff.
Note: Some cancellations are beyond your control. If a visit gets canceled due to an inmate disciplinary lockdown or a SCORE-initiated lockdown, SCORE sends an email cancellation notice. The visit won't be automatically rescheduled.
- Confirm your appointment well ahead of time. Since SCORE visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance (and are scheduled through Securus), make sure you know the exact start time before the day gets busy.
- Sign in early. Give yourself a buffer so you are ready to join right at the scheduled start time, not scrambling when the clock is already running.
- Avoid last-minute changes. With no same-day visits allowed, if you miss your slot you generally cannot just book another one for later that day.

- ✓ Watch your email for SCORE cancellation notices related to lockdowns (these are not automatically rescheduled)
A lot of "late arrivals" are really tech delays in disguise. SCORE routes video visits through Securus, and Securus specifically warns against using Chrome or Microsoft Edge to join Video Connect sessions. Switch to a different browser ahead of time and run through your setup early. You don't want to be troubleshooting after your start time has already passed.
