When SCORE cancels visits: lockdowns, email notices, and how to reschedule
A canceled visit at SCORE can catch you off guard, especially when you've built your day around it. Here's why cancellations happen, how you'll find out, and what to do to get back on the schedule.
Visits get canceled for two main reasons. First, if the person you're visiting is on disciplinary lockdown, they lose visitation privileges during that time. Second, SCORE administration can cancel visits when safety or security concerns require it - these facility-wide lockdowns can wipe out many scheduled visits at once.
This matters because internet visits run on a strict clock. Each visit is exactly 25 minutes, starting and ending on time. If your slot gets pulled for a lockdown, you can't make it up by arriving late or hoping things run over.
When SCORE cancels your visit due to a lockdown, they'll send an email notice. Check the inbox for the email address you used when registering and scheduling.
Important: A cancellation due to a SCORE-initiated lockdown does not count as your weekly visit, and you will not be automatically rescheduled - you have to book a new time yourself online.
To reschedule, you'll need to book a new time online through Securus. Head to https://securustech.net/ to register, schedule, and view visits. If your visit was canceled due to a SCORE-initiated lockdown, go back in and pick a new slot.
- ✓ Schedule at least 24 hours in advance (and no more than 7 days out)
- ✓ No same-day visitation is permitted
- ✓ Internet visits are in 25-minute increments, and scheduled visits start and end on time
- Sign in to Securus - Use your existing login, or create an account if you haven’t registered yet.
- Find the person you’re visiting and open scheduling - Look for available internet-visit time slots.
- Pick a new time that fits the rules - Choose a slot at least 24 hours away (no same-day visits).
- Confirm your booking - Since SCORE won’t automatically reschedule you after a lockdown cancellation, make sure you complete the process and watch for your confirmation.
Dealing with multiple cancellations? Save those emails. They help you track what happened and prove the cancellation was SCORE-initiated - which means it shouldn't count against your weekly visit.
