Adding Money to an Inmate's Account at Sedgwick County Jail: Kiosk vs Online

The jail lobby has a kiosk that accepts cash, credit, or debit card. The big advantage? Funds post immediately - the inmate can use them right away. If you'd rather skip the trip, you can also deposit online through JailATM.

Note: To add money online (and to schedule a video visit), you’ll need to create a JailATM account first.

Cash deposits at the lobby kiosk carry a minimum fee of $3.25. That fee applies even for small amounts, so factor it in when deciding how much to deposit.

Using a credit or debit card at the kiosk? The fee is $3.25 or 10% of your deposit - whichever is greater. These fees are set by CBM, the kiosk provider, and you'll see the exact amount before you confirm the transaction.

Tip: Check the fee on screen before hitting confirm. Cash deposits have a $3.25 minimum; card deposits are $3.25 or 10% - whichever is greater.

For online deposits, head to www.jailatm.com. You'll need to create a JailATM account first. Once you're set up, you can deposit funds with a credit or debit card - and even purchase commissary items directly for the inmate through the same site.

Note: Some Sedgwick County pages list different web addresses for online deposits. Double-check you're on the correct vendor site before entering payment info.

If the inmate is housed at an out-of-county facility, any funds you deposit will be held until they return. Once they're back at Sedgwick County Jail, the balance gets added to their account.

  • If the pages still conflict, verify the correct vendor address with the county before publishing or sharing it.
