How to Set Up Phone Calls from Sheridan Correctional Center (and What to Do About Securus Balances)
If your loved one is at Sheridan Correctional Center, phone calls are now handled through ICSolutions. Here's how to fund an account, what number might show up on your caller ID, and what to do if you still have money sitting in a Securus Advance Connect account.
The first option is a Friends and Family prepaid account through ICSolutions. You create the account in your name and add money as needed. When someone at Sheridan calls you, the cost comes out of that prepaid balance.
The other option is funding the incarcerated person's trust (commissary) account so they can purchase phone minutes directly. This gives them control over how the money gets used for calls, instead of charges pulling from your prepaid balance.
Calls from Sheridan through ICSolutions may show up as (779) 214-6761 on your caller ID. If you screen unknown numbers, save this one so you don't miss a call.
The Illinois Department of Corrections began switching phone service from Securus to ICSolutions starting as early as February 3, 2025. If you're setting things up for the first time, or calls suddenly stopped working the way they used to, this vendor change is almost certainly the reason you're being asked to create an ICSolutions account.
Under ICSolutions, the domestic call rate is $0.008 per minute. That's actually a slight drop from the prior Securus rate of $0.009 per minute.
If you had money on a Securus Advance Connect account, it won't move over to ICSolutions on its own. You'll need to contact Securus directly for a refund. Reach them at 1-800-844-6591 or visit securustech.net.
