How to Set Up Phone Calls from Sheridan Correctional Center (ICSolutions)

One option: a Friends & Family prepaid account through ICSolutions. Think of it as the "you pay for incoming calls" route. You create an account in your name, add money, and calls from Sheridan draw from that balance.

The other option: fund your loved one's trust account so they can buy phone minutes through commissary. You're still helping cover the cost, but they control when to purchase minutes and how to use them.

  • Use Friends & Family prepaid if you want to pay directly for the calls you receive from Sheridan Correctional Center.
  • Use commissary minutes if you’d rather add funds to your loved one’s trust account so they can purchase phone minutes themselves.
  • If you’re not sure which is better, it often comes down to control: prepaid = you manage the calling balance, commissary minutes = your loved one manages the minutes.

Calls from Sheridan through ICSolutions may show up as (779) 214-6761. If you use spam filtering or silence unknown callers, save this number so you don't miss the call.

Illinois DOC began switching phone services from Securus to ICSolutions starting February 3, 2025. The rollout is happening facility by facility and should take about two weeks total - timing depends on when Sheridan's changeover occurs. During the switch, phone credits and approved phone lists should transfer to the new system, though expect a brief interruption (one to two days) while data moves over.

Note: If calls suddenly stop around the transition window, it's likely a temporary interruption. Once service resumes, double-check that your setup and any balances are working as expected.

Under ICSolutions, domestic calls cost $0.008 per minute. That's your baseline for budgeting once your account or minutes are set up.

  1. Plan around the transition window - IDOC’s move to ICSolutions started as early as February 3, 2025 and is happening facility by facility, so short disruptions can happen during the changeover.
  2. Do a quick “test run” once calls resume - after the transition at Sheridan, make sure you can receive a call and that it’s billing the way you intended (Friends & Family prepaid vs. minutes purchased through commissary).
  3. Watch for the Sheridan caller ID and confirm the rate - incoming calls may display as (779) 214-6761, and domestic calls should be billed at $0.008 per minute under ICSolutions.

Have money left in a Securus Advance Connect account? That balance won't transfer automatically to ICSolutions. After the transition completes, contact Securus for a refund at 1-800-844-6591 or through securustech.net.
