Sonoma County Jail’s New Personal Visitation Hours (Effective Feb 22, 2025)

Starting February 22, 2025, personal visitation at the Main Adult Detention Facility runs on fixed appointment slots - morning, afternoon, and evening options. You'll pick a specific start time rather than showing up during an open window. Good to know if you're juggling work, childcare, or travel.

Personal visits happen Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. When you call to schedule, you'll pick from available time slots on one of those three days.

Each visit lasts 30 minutes. Be ready to start at your scheduled time - there's no grace period, and you won't get that time back.

Only two visitors are allowed per visit. If more people want to see the same person, coordinate ahead of time when booking.

Each incarcerated person can have one visit per visitation day. Coordinate with other family members or friends early so you don't accidentally book competing visits for the same day.

You must schedule by phone - no walk-ins or same-day sign-ups. Call (707) 565-1400 Tuesday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, to book.

Check in at the lobby 20 minutes before your scheduled time. Build that buffer into your plan so you're not rushing.

Reminder: You must give 24-hour notice to cancel a visit appointment. Missed appointments may result in a suspension of visiting privileges.

Convicted felons need prior written approval from the Facility Manager (or their designee) before visiting. Submit the approval form at the Detention Facility's front counter.

Tip: Have backup times ready when you call. Morning slots start at 9:00 AM, 9:45 AM, or 10:30 AM. Afternoon visits begin at 1:00 PM. Evening slots start at 7:30 PM. Whatever you pick, remember the 20-minute early check-in so you don't miss your appointment.
