How to Apply for Visits with Someone in the Missouri DOC (step-by-step)

To visit someone in the Missouri Department of Corrections, you'll need to complete their online visiting application. The one thing you absolutely need before starting? The offender's DOC ID number. Without it, you can't submit the form - so track that down first.

How to Apply for Visits with Someone in the Missouri DOC (step-by-step)

Needed

  • The offender’s Missouri DOC Identification Number (DOC ID)
  • A plan to complete every field marked with an asterisk (*) - those are required
  • If the visitor is a minor child: under “Identification Number,” choose “other” for the type and enter “NA” for the number

Tip: Before you submit, scan the form for any fields marked with an asterisk (*). If a required field is missed, your application isn’t complete.

  1. Enter the offender’s DOC ID - this is required to submit the Missouri DOC online visiting application.
  2. Fill out the required (*) fields on the next section - if a box has an asterisk, it needs an answer.
  3. Handle the Identification Number section (especially for minors) - for a minor child, choose “other” as the type and enter “NA” as the number.
  4. Complete the remaining required (*) fields and accept the agreement - keep going through the form and finish every required item.
  5. Click “Finish” to submit - this is the final step that sends your application forward for processing.

Click

The application includes your agreement to follow Missouri DOC visiting regulations - including consenting to search. Read through the visiting-room rules before you submit so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.

Once submitted, your application goes to the institutional case manager for review. Don't show up for an in-person visit until you've received final approval.

Problems

  • Contact the offender’s residing institution if you have questions about completing the application
  • Keep the offender’s DOC ID handy - it’s required to submit and useful when asking for help
  • If you’re following up on what happens after submission, remember the application is processed by the institutional case manager

Minor visitor reminder: In the Identification Number area, select “other” for the type and enter “NA” for the number.
