How to Mail Someone at South Central: Digital Mail Center Address, Rules, and What Reaches an Offender
Mailing a letter to someone at South Central Correctional Center (SCCC)? Here's the most important thing: Missouri changed how personal mail works. Since July 1, 2022, personal postal mail no longer goes directly to Missouri Department of Corrections facilities. Instead, everything routes through the Missouri DOC Digital Mail Center, where staff scan your letter and deliver it electronically to the resident.
Note: If you address personal mail to the facility instead of the Digital Mail Center, it may be returned or not delivered. Use the Digital Mail Center format every time.
Send your envelope to the Missouri DOC Digital Mail Center - not the facility itself. Include the resident's name and DOC ID number clearly. Here's the format: Offender Name and DOC ID# C/O Digital Mail Center–Missouri DOC PO Box 25678 Tampa, FL 33622-5678
- ✓ Put your return name and address on the envelope (as the sender)
- ✓ Include the offender’s DOC ID number with their name
- ✓ For your own reference, South Central Correctional Center’s street address is 255 West Highway 32, Licking, MO 65542 (but personal mail must still be sent to the Digital Mail Center address above)
Warning: If you don’t include a return name and address, or the envelope isn’t properly addressed, the mail will be returned to you.
Keep your mailing simple. Missouri DOC limits correspondence to 10 items per envelope max - so if you're sending a letter plus photos or drawings, count everything before sealing it up. Don't tuck in extras like money or supplies. Offenders cannot receive food, clothing, cash, money orders, checks, stamps, or stamped envelopes through the mail. Here's one that surprises a lot of families: standard greeting cards sent through the mail are not allowed. The only exception? Greeting cards purchased and sent through securustech.net.
- ✓ Keep it to 10 items or fewer per envelope
- ✓ Do not mail food, clothing, cash, money orders, checks, stamps, stamped envelopes, or other items
- ✓ If you want to send a greeting card, purchase and send it through securustech.net (regular mailed greeting cards won’t be delivered)
Note: If you include something that isn’t allowed - like stamps or cash - your mail can be rejected instead of delivered.
Here's something that catches people off guard: if any single item in your envelope isn't allowed, the entire mailing gets rejected. One prohibited item - or one problem page - stops everything from reaching your loved one.
- Check your return address - make sure your return name and address are on the envelope so rejected mail can actually come back to you.
- Remove the problem item(s) - if you included anything not allowed, take it out and keep the mailing focused on simple, scannable correspondence.
- Resend using the correct address format - include the offender’s name and DOC ID number and send it to the Missouri DOC Digital Mail Center in Tampa.
If your loved one just arrived in Missouri DOC custody, they'll receive basic supplies to write home: two pieces of paper, a postage-paid envelope, and a writing instrument.
