South Central Correctional Center offers visiting hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in two shifts: 9:30am–1:30pm and 2:30pm–6:30pm. Planning a weekend visit? Aim for one of those windows so you're not stuck waiting for the next shift.

Don't show up too early. Visitors can arrive in the parking lot no earlier than 30 minutes before visiting starts. Plan your drive with that in mind - especially if you're traveling from out of town and like to build in extra time.

Entry is first-come, first-served. The order you arrive matters, and busy weekends move slower. Be ready to check in as soon as you're allowed on the lot.

Note: No one - person or pet - may stay in a vehicle on institutional grounds. Traveling with someone who isn't going inside, or bringing an animal? Make other arrangements before you arrive.

Visits are capped at 3 visitors per offender, plus up to 3 additional visitors age 5 and under. Coming as a group? Count carefully so no one gets turned away at the door.

Heads-up: Even when statewide limits are clear, facilities can tighten restrictions during busy periods. Not sure if a weekend has extra rules? Call ahead before making the drive.

Expect security screening at the facility. You, your packages, your children, and your vehicle are all subject to search. Metal detectors are used at all facilities. Build in extra time so you're not rushed through the process.
