What You Can and Cannot Bring to Visiting Day: South Florida Reception Center Rules

Visitors 16 and older must show a valid photo ID to enter the visiting area at South Florida Reception Center. Bring just one ID card. Leave extra cards and documents secured elsewhere - anything beyond what's required can create problems at check-in.

  • One (1) photographic identification card
  • Limited feminine hygiene products

Key fobs: Keyless entry devices aren't allowed unless the duty warden or designee visually inspects and approves them. If your fob is the only way to access your car, check with staff before you arrive.

What you wear matters. Shirts and shoes are required. Heelys or any footwear with removable parts aren't allowed - stick with simple, standard shoes to avoid getting turned away.

  • One valid picture ID if you’re age 16+
  • Up to $50 cash per visitor in $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills only (for vending machines)
  • One (1) vehicle key (avoid bringing a keyless entry device unless it can be inspected/approved)
  • Limited feminine hygiene products (only what you need)
