How to Get Approved to Visit Someone at Southeast Correctional Center (SECC)
Visiting someone at Southeast Correctional Center (SECC) requires approval from the Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC). Here's what you need to gather, how to complete the online application, and what to expect after you submit.
Before
- ✓ The offender’s Missouri DOC Identification Number (DOC ID)
- ✓ A valid photo ID for adult visitors (for example, a current driver’s license or Department of Revenue ID card)
- ✓ For visitors ages 13–18: a current school photo ID that includes their name, or a valid federal/state government-issued ID
- ✓ If the visitor is under 18 (and not married to the offender): an authorized adult visitor must accompany them
- ✓ If the visitor is a minor child on the online form: under Identification Number, choose “other - on type” and enter “NA - on Number”
Note: Don’t attempt a visit until you receive final approval after your application is processed.
The online application asks you to agree to Missouri DOC visiting regulations, including searches. Take a minute to read through what you're agreeing to before you submit - no one likes surprises at check-in.
- Start with the offender’s DOC ID - you can’t submit the Missouri DOC online visiting application without it.
- Fill out every required (*) field - the form won’t be considered complete if you skip required items.
- Handle minor-child ID fields the way the form instructs - for a minor child, select “other - on type” under Identification Number and enter “NA - on Number.”
- Agree to the visiting rules (including searches) - the application requires you to confirm you’ll comply with visiting regulations before submission.
- Submit the application - once everything is complete and you click Finish, it moves forward for processing.

Missouri DOC requires pre-approval before you can visit any DOC facility, including SECC. The process involves completing a visiting application and passing a criminal history check.
Reminder: Fill out the application completely and honestly. Inaccurate information can get your visiting privileges denied.
Once you click Finish, your application is sent electronically to the institutional case manager, who handles the review.
