Southeast Correctional Center Visiting Hours — When You Can Visit

Visiting someone at Southeast Correctional Center (SECC) is straightforward once you know the schedule. Here are the posted days, session times, and key rules that affect when you can get in.

SECC holds visiting hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There are two sessions each day: 9:30am to 1:30pm and 2:30pm to 6:30pm. If you're traveling from out of town, plan around those windows. There's a gap between sessions, and you don't want to be stuck waiting with nothing to do.

Before you show up, make sure you're approved to visit. SECC requires all visitors to submit a visiting application, which includes a criminal history check. Without approval, you'll be turned away at the door, even if you arrive during posted visiting hours.

Keep your group size in mind. Each offender can have up to three visitors, plus up to three additional visitors age 5 and under. If your group exceeds the limit, some members won't be allowed in.

Timing matters at the gate. You can arrive in the parking lot no earlier than 30 minutes before the session starts, and entry is first-come, first-served. Show up too early and you may be asked to come back. Arrive late and you'll end up behind other visitors in line.

Parking reminder: No person or pet may remain in a vehicle on institutional grounds while you're visiting.

Even with a published schedule, visitation can shift based on operational needs. If you're making a long drive, call ahead to confirm the current schedule and any visit limits. Double-check that your loved one is able to receive visits that day, too.

Practical Tips

  • Confirm you are pre-approved to visit before you make the trip (visiting application plus criminal history check).
  • Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the session start time, since entry is first-come, first-served.
  • Keep your group within the limit of three visitors per offender (with up to three additional visitors age 5 and under).
  • If you are traveling far, verify the current schedule and your loved one’s visiting status before you leave.

Before you go inside: Don't leave a person or pet in your vehicle on institutional grounds.
