How to Reserve a Visit at Southeastern Correctional Institution (SCI)

SCI requires online reservations for every visit. A little prep ahead of time can save you a wasted trip.

At Southeastern Correctional Institution (SCI), you can't just show up and get on the visiting list at the door. All visits must be reserved online through the GTL/ViaPath visitation portal. Make your reservation first, then plan your travel around the time you booked.

Before you can reserve a time, you need to be approved as a visitor through the incarcerated person's visiting list process. If you're filling out an adult visitor application and you're currently on probation or parole, include a letter from your probation/parole officer granting you permission to visit. Once your application is approved, there's one more step: register at gtlvisitme.com so you can actually make reservations.

SCI reservations are made through the GTL/ViaPath portal at ohdoc.gtlvisitme.com. Approved visitors can book at any time. Have your loved one's details handy when you sit down to reserve, so you can find the right person and finish without having to stop and restart.

Sessions Closures

  • Morning session: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon session: 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 3:00 p.m.
  • Visiting is available 7 days a week.
  • SCI is closed on all major holidays.

Heads up: Before you travel, double-check for holiday closures or one-off closures for special events or family engagement seminars.

If you get stuck with the reservation process or have a question specific to SCI visitation, reach out to the visiting officer. For time-sensitive issues (like same-day problems), calling is usually fastest: 740-653-4324 ext. 76026. For non-urgent questions or follow-ups, email drc.visitationsci@drc.ohio.gov.
