How to Visit Facility
All visits at Southeastern Correctional Institution (SCI) are by reservation only. You'll need to book through the GTL/ViaPath visitation portal ahead of time. SCI offers two sessions each day: a morning session from 8:30am to 11:30am and an afternoon session from noon to 3:00pm. Visits are available seven days a week, though the institution closes on all major holidays and may occasionally close for special events or family engagement seminars.
Plan your outfit carefully. SCI enforces a strict dress code, and they will turn you away if you don't meet it. Hats, sunglasses, and see-through or tight-fitting clothing (including leggings) are all prohibited. The same goes for large or excessive jewelry, smart watches or Fitbit-style devices, camouflage patterns, shirts that expose the midriff or upper chest/cleavage, and open-toe shoes. Boots that extend more than 1 inch above the ankle aren't allowed either.
SCI also offers video visitation kiosks for people in general population, located right in their housing units. If someone is in restrictive housing (segregation), video visits aren't an option. The same visitation rules apply to video visits as in-person ones, and any rule violations can result in lost visiting privileges. All video visits are monitored, recorded, and/or reviewed after the session. Only approved and tentatively approved visitors can participate.
