How to Schedule Your First Visit at Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center

All in-person visits at Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center must be scheduled online through the IDOC SignUpGenius system. No appointment? You may not get in that day.

Adult visitors (18 and older) need to complete a Prospective Visitor's Interview form (DOC 0148) before their first visit. Legal visitors and government officials are exempt. If you've already received approval through the electronic PVI process, you can skip this step.

Fill out the PVI (DOC 0148) before you arrive - it speeds up check-in considerably. IDOC offers the form online in both English and Spanish.

Show up at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Check-in takes a while, and arriving late can cut into your visit - or keep you from being processed at all.

Bring two forms of ID. One must be a current state-issued photo ID. You'll also need your vehicle information. If you're wearing a face covering, staff may ask you to lower it briefly for identification at entry and exit.

You'll go through a COVID-19 symptom and temperature screening at entry. Build in a few extra minutes so you're not rushed.

Note: The facility provides a surgical mask to all visitors over age two. You may still be asked to briefly lower your mask for identification at entry and exit.
